Billerica Contest Report We're still waiting for the snail mail report from the April 2nd contest in Billerica MA. Attendance was about 8 in each class and comments back were that it went well for a first time contest. CMRCM contest on April 30th (this sunday) The CMRCM Combat Contest to be held at the CMRCM Field in Westboro, MA on April 30th. Entry fee is $5 per plane per class. Pilots meeting at 9:30 AM, flying to start at 10:00AM sharp. Also let me spell out what I expect for the Stock and Open Classes I am planning to run. A new scoring format will be in effect, stealing ideas from glider contests, previous combat events, and from the always fertile mind of Eric Henderson! Stock: This class will be as described in an earlier paragraph, with the following inclusions. Fuselages will be plastic. Twin fins will be required. There is a movement afoot to set a minimum weight of 3 pounds, but the jury is still out on that one! Open: Open class still has to be the basic Gremlin design, i.e. flying wing, twin fins, plastic fuselage, no metal in wing. Engine size and type is open. Unfortunately we can't provide food like those Great Guys in Rhode Island, so be prepared to bring your own or head out to a local fast food place when we break for lunch. The prizes are cash for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each class! Dan Snow - CD Directions to the Central Mass R/C Modelers club field The CMRCM field is off Rt 135 just north of Rt 9 (and Rt 135 is west of Rt 495 on Rt 9), follow signs to the Mass. Fish and Game. Follow the access road up through all the buildings and at the end of the road there is a gate at the start of a 1/2 mile road down into the place, and we're supposed to keep it locked, so don't show up too early. Power flying isn't allowed before 10am. Once you go through the gate, go all the way to the bottom and turn right. After you come over the rise in the, now dirt, road, You'll see the field on the right and the parking area on the left. If this parking area is full, additional cars may park on the right, beyond the pits.
